“The First Haitian Image Awards – An evening of grace and honor” January 5, 2010 – Downtown Miami - Nobility and tribute will be the premise for an evening of admiration on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the first ever, Haitian Image Awards. For decades of success and triumph, Haitians and Haitian-Americans have persevered through the Arts and at times their invaluable contributions have gone unnoticed. As the creation of Noel and Cecibon Productions, Inc., the Haitian Image Awards is set as a premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of Haitians in the Arts be it motion picture, television, recording and literature, as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors. The impressive and exclusive Carnival Center for the Performing Arts, in the heart of Downtown Miami, will open its doors to this scintillating gala following Miami’s leading Haitian gathering, the Haitian Compas Festival on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

As a symbol of achievement, the Haitian Image Awards will encourage higher levels of quality in all facets of Haitian society, and will work towards commemorating Haitian heritage and accomplishments.

The Haitian Image Awards’ principle is bountiful in prestige, notability and excellence and the criteria for nomination and acknowledgement falls to those of Haitian descent, who individually or as a group have affected Haiti through noteworthy contributions, high quality performances and professional conduct with regards to their area of expertise. Selections will be made by the Haitian Image Awards’ Executive Board, which will consist of a select list of professionals of high esteem who have proven to excel in their field. Eligible projects must have been distributed nationally between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2009.

The category list of awards includes The President’s Award, The Chairman’s Award, Achievement in Dance, Achievement in Literature, The Theodore Beaubrum Award, Best Dance Group, Best Feature Film, Best Music Video, Best Producer/Director, Best TV Host, Favorite Lead Actor, Lifetime Achievement Award, Album of the Year, Best Live Performer, Best Radio Host, Favorite Gospel Group, Song of the Year and a list of other notable classifications that are deemed distinguished.

Planned as a true red carpet extravaganza, the Haitian Image Awards will bring out a parade of International Stars and Legends that deserve praise and recognition.
